Very insightful write up. Typically when you see a pyramid of how these pieces connect it’s the opposite. Starting at the top with a smaller sized mission, vision — to the larger piece roadmap.
I’m not sure if this was done purposely but to me it says “mission is the most critical piece and the foundation of what we do as a company”
It is intentional here. Mission is the most important foundational piece of everything companies should be doing. And as a foundational item, it can (and should) be at least loosely connected with the smallest operational tasks.
All as it should be… though I still think it’s hilarious how different groups define mission vs vision and think they should therefore be together as “Where We Want to Go”
I had similar observations. Ultimately, I don't care how people label the answers to foundational questions, as long as they answer the right questions. :)
